On October 12-14, 2022, the 5th International Congress of Archaeology of the Eurasian Steppes "Eurasian Steppe Civilization: human and the historical and cultural environment" will be held in Turkistan (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The Archaeological forum of the Eurasian scale is being held for the first time in independent Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of this event is to consolidate the scientific community and unite its efforts to solve topical issues of the ancient and medieval history of Eurasia.

During the Congress, it is planned to discuss the basic problems of the archaeology of Eurasia. Through the joint international efforts of the world scientific community, based on modern multidisciplinary methods, it is possible to solve the existing fundamental problems of archaeology, as well as in the field of preservation and use of the historical and cultural heritage of Eurasia.

The work of the Congress is carried out in the following areas/sections:

-     Cultural and historical processes in the Eurasian steppes in the era of early metal: traditions and innovations;

-     The phenomenon of the early nomads of Eurasia;

-     Nomads of the Eurasian steppe in the Middle Ages;

-     Urbanism in the Eurasian steppe in the Middle Ages;

-     History of the study of archaeology of the steppe cultures of Eurasia; preservation and museification of the archaeological heritage of the nomads of Eurasia.

The Congress will be attended by leading domestic and foreign scientists from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Australia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Iran, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, South Korea, Japan.

Over two hundred specialists will discuss topical issues of the archaeology of early metal, the era of early nomads, medieval nomads and cities, the history of nomadic empires of Eurasia, the development of art, worldview, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage and the history of archaeological discoveries for three days.

Among the main co-organizers: A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the Committee of Science of the Ministry Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, A.Kh. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, International Institute for Central Asian Studies, Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.

The organization is also supported by the Akimat of the Turkistan region, Kazan Federal University, Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (the Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute for Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far-East of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Research Center of Altaic Studies and Turkology "Big Altai" of Altai State University.
